City of Santa Clara/Silicon Valley Power – Mission Substation Project
Power Pros is pleased to have been chosen by the City of Santa Clara/Silicon Valley Power (SVP) to perform the testing and commissioning of its new Mission Substation. This is our second substation project with SVP where we have worked in conjunction with the design engineers (MTH), City of Santa Clara Staff, and Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL). Power Pros previous SVP project, De La Cruz Junction Substation, served as the introduction of our commissioning processes and methods to SVP. De La Cruz was a project with an extremely challenging schedule. The station had to be tested, commissioned and energized in less than thirty days. Silicon Valley Power was very pleased with Power Pros performance, our professionalism, our skill, and our effectiveness in executing the work. Mission Substation is to date the largest substation in the SVP system.
Silicon Valley Power (SVP) is the trademark adopted for use by the electric municipal utility of the City of Santa Clara, California, serving residents and businesses for over 100 years. SVP provides power to more than 50,000 customers, including Applied Materials, Intel, Owens Corning, and Yahoo. The City of Santa Clara is an LEED/Green community.
