        Position Summary and Responsibilities:

        This is a project leader position. The ideal candidate will be able to:

        • Act as Lead/Supervisor role on small to medium sized projects running team of up to 10 test technicians and engineers
        • Perform hands-on testing and commissioning of electrical protection and control systems on medium and high voltage generation and distribution
        • Develop and execute test scripts and protocols
        • Develop and execute project schedules
        • Accurately produce, document, and manage test results and field reports in required formats
        • Serve as point of contact for client and represent company in project related meetings
        • Provide technical training and development for junior team members

        • Demonstrable expertise on transmission, generation and distribution relays (SEL, Basler, Beckwith, and GE families) and protective schemes. Technical skills related to protective relays include relay calibration utilizing computer-controlled, three phase test sets, control scheme testing, testing of the sensing CT/PT circuits, ability to upload settings to microprocessor relays, and static & dynamic testing of microprocessor-based protective relays.
        • Proven experience with Electrical Field-Testing standards, practices, and procedures such as NETA, IEEE, NFPA applicable standards.

            Position Summary and Responsibilities:

            • Perform installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of protective relaying equipment, relaying schemes, DFR equipment, SCADA systems, distribution automation systems and associated communication equipment.
            • Perform function testing of substation control circuits on relay panel, transformers & circuit breaker changeouts.
            • Perform end-to-end relay testing using Doble Protest or RTS software to verify carrier and fiber systems. • Perform electro-mechanical relay testing of GE, Westinghouse, ITE, etc.

            Required Education/Experience:

            • Must be willing and able to travel overnight 35%+.

              Job Responsibilities And Expectations:

              • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data of low, medium and high voltage (to 500kV) electrical systems, and moderately complex relay calibration and power metering, including:
              • Power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance)
              • Testing both electro-mechanical and solid state relays
              • Cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot)
              • Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting
              • Low, Medium and High voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing
              • Perform maintenance and repair work on substation equipment.
              • Repair, replace and clean equipment and components including circuit breakers, brushes and commutators.
              • Schedule and supervise the construction and testing of special devices and the implementation of unique monitoring and control systems.
              • Analyze test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems, and to evaluate effects of systems notifications.
              • Frequently travel up to 35% to perform field work at customer’s industrial and commercial sites throughout the local and regional area.
              • Rotate emergency on-call duty and if called respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.

                • Create professional grade CAD drawings from engineering sketches and concepts.
                • Organize and put together design drawing submittals and construction drawing packages.
                • Update as-built CAD drawings per field red-lines.
                • Draft electrical system operational site maps, single-lines, and schematics under electrical engineer’s supervision for all Power Pros projects.
                • Keep up-to-date with latest AutoCAD software features to improve drafting quality and efficiency.
                • Develop and maintain CAD lisp routines (in AutoCAD) to automate drafting processes.
                • Learn and maintain basic power engineering concepts and fundamentals.
                • Provide design and drafting support to each of the Power Pros engineers as required.

                • Provide AutoCAD user training to new engineers and drafters.
                • Develop internal design and drafting processes for engineers and other drafters.
